Happy Holidays from Robin and Linda

Hey Folks,
Welcome to winter! After a weekend of ice, snow and freezing rain we've got a cold and bright sunny day here in the Shenandoah Valley. We've been lucky so far and have missed the really horrible stuff that a lot of you have had to deal with - power outages, etc.  We talked with our buddy Jim Watson and he had a horror story about being stuck in the Dallas airport for 36 hours. Did this recent weather cause you any trials and tribulations?

We were glad we were off the road this past weekend. And we're not leaving home until after Christmas. The only music thing we'll be doing before then - outside of our living room - is a live broadcast at our local NPR station, WMRA FM, in Harrisonburg, VA. They've supported Folk/Bluegrass/Americana music for as we've lived here and we love them for that. If you're local to our area, tune us in on 90.7 FM Saturday afternoon, December 14, at 1:00 PM (EST). Others, if you're inside and by your computer, may hear the live stream at www.wmra.org. We'll be doing some songs from our new CD, "Back 40" as well as some tunes from our Christmas CD, "The First Christmas Gift." The name of the show is "Acoustic Cafe."

And the new CD is garnering some good reviews. The latest is from a British magazine, Folk Roots. The reviewer says:

"Robin & Linda Williams have been doing it for years and get progressively better.... This time they are aided by the production of Jim Rooney, who does this sort of thing better than anyone.... As one of their best songs on the recording says, "This Is the Real Thing."  I should mention also a great version of "Boots of Spanish Leather," possibly the best cover since Bob [Dylan] wrote it. Perfect acoustic country music from beginning to end."
-- John Atkins,

These kinds of words make it all worthwhile.

And just a quick reminder, these CDs will make wonderful Christmas presents.  Patti Simmons at www.robinandlinda.com would love to bring a smile to your loved ones' faces and will fill all orders quickly.

We hope this finds you all in good health and spirits and we wish you a relaxing Holiday Season and a wonderful New Year. We'll be covering a lot of the country in 2014 and we'll hope to see you at one of the stops along the way.

Your pals,
Robin and Linda
