Those folks who came to our gigs last week got to see a different Robin and Linda show. Due to a nasty fall that resulted in eight cracked ribs and a punctured lung, Robin didn't make the trip. So The Linda Williams Trio replaced Robin and Linda Williams and Their Fine Group. Chris Brashear and Jim Watson covered a lot of bases in Robin's absence. And the trio, from all reviews, did a great job; so great that Robin is worried about his job security and, having gotten clearance from his doctor, he is now on schedule to be back on the road this week doing all he can. We got through a hard time with the help of friends and family and would love to thank them by all name. But they know who they are and how much their kindness and love means to us. Robin is back playing and singing and we've had a couple of good rehearsals this week. So we're looking forward to the upcoming concerts. We think they will be special and hope that we'll see some of you along the way. And a big thanks to everyone last weekend for adjusting to our situation and for cheering us on.
The more we read about the Founding Fathers and the beginnings of this nation, the more we appreciate what a magnificent thing they forged and created, and how fortunate we all are to be a citizens. Several years ago we participated in some Naturalization ceremonies and it was a profound experience for us to see what becoming a U.S. citizen meant to those people. None of us should take it for granted. We hope everybody has a happy and safe Fourth of July!!
Bumper Sticker Of The Month: When you do a good deed, get a receipt, in case heaven is like the IRS.
We are starting to eat out of our garden. What wonderful taste treats to have the first squash, peas, lettuce and cucumbers of the season. We're getting enough rain to give us hope that we'll have a nice growing season this summer.
That's about all the news we can think of on the spur of the moment. Hope you are all doing well.
