Robin and Linda Williams: Never Never Land and Hee Haw

Dear Friends,

It's been a busy month for Robin and Linda and we have spent a major part of every recent day in the "Never, Never Land" of releasing a CD. So far, and we're keeping our fingers crossed, our plans have worked out well. The CD has garnered some good radio play and is getting excellent "chart action." And sales have been outstanding, spurred on by the wonderful response from all you who bought the CD off our website.

Which leads us to the announcement that you who bought a copy of "A Better Day A-Coming" are now owners of a collector's item? In the final days of cover deliberations, we asked the designer to make one final change to the back panel and, while moving a picture from one spot to another, the title of "Done Found My Lost Sheep" was changed to "Done Found Lost My Sheep." We were already cross-eyed from proofreading and dealing with the minutiae on the cover, so when the final proof was sent to us, we just approved the picture position, never noticing the change. It was several of you who let us know. We thank you, even though it did result in us singing lyrics from an old "Hee Haw" television anthem: "Gloom, despair, agony on me/Deep dark depression, excessive misery/. . . "

But then we realized -- and we felt a lot better about ourselves -- this is not something to agonize over. On the contrary, it's good news. What we've done is provide the world with a collector's item. As we said, sales have been good and, even though the CD won't be officially released to the public until this Friday, the 30th, we have ordered a second pressing, with the mistake corrected. Soon there will be no more of the "A Better Day A-Coming (Done Found Lost My Sheep)," Robin and Linda CDs. So, to our way of thinking, this is advantageous to those who have a copy of this soon-to-be rare item.

But, for those of you who regret having missed your chance, don't be bitterly disappointed. We still have enough left from the first pressing for you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. For a short time only, all you need to do to get your signed copy is go to the merchandise page at www.robinandlinda.com and order it. Our webmistress, Patti Simmons, will be glad to hear from you.

Speaking of which, we need to give a shout-out to the incredible folks on our "A Better Day A-Coming" team. Patti oversees our website and handles all sales and mailings and manages the Robin and Linda Williams Facebook page. She is truly worth her weight in gold. Art Menius, who supervises the radio programmers for "ABDAC:" has been thorough, professional, a little humorous and, because of his efforts, the single from the CD has consistently shown up at the top of all charts that deal with our type of music. Bev Paul, a retired record company executive, has exceeded her role as a friend by helping us negotiate our way through the dark alleys of dealing with manufacturers and royalty collectors. And Jill Kettles has come on board the team bus to help us with publicity, a world we know absolutely nothing about. So, we send a big thanks to the team. We have newfound respect for the work involved in releasing a CD and they made it possible for us.Ê

Bumper Sticker of The Month: Frog parking only. All others will be toad.

We got a call recently asking us if we'd like to be in a movie that is being shot in our hometown. It was interesting to be on a movie set again and to be around serious film makers. In one scene we sang at a funeral and in another we were bar band musicians. It gave us the opportunity to play some music with James Leva again and it was a lot of fun. The local paper ran a story about it: https://www.newsleader.com/story/news/local/2021/07/23/staunton-streets-light-up-new-comedy-drama-film-production/8039204002/?fbclid=IwAR

Hope this finds you well and busy. It's nice that life has opened up somewhat and it's possible now to go see live music. Remember, music makes you smarter.

Your pals,
Robin and Linda
