Robin and Linda Williams: October's News 2023

Dear Friends,
We've had a good week at home. This last trip was a little different as we sandwiched some gigs in Montana around two weddings, one in Tennessee and one in Minnesota. And while it involved more air travel than usual it was worth it as we got to see family and old friends and Montana at its most captivating. Plus, we played in front of the best audiences in the history of the music business. We came home thinking, Robin and Linda are still living the dream.

This week we've kept up with our musical and non-musical responsibilities and, as well, we've shifted gears slightly and started to concentrate on an old, and yet very new project, a musical entitled "Streets of Gold." In 1994 or '95 a well-spoken, confident playwright, Mary Sue Price, approached us after a gig and asked us if we'd be interested in collaborating with her on a theater piece she was writing which takes place in Branson, MO. Right away, it was intriguing and, to make a long story - uh - interesting, within two years we had a musical that Circle Repertory Theater in New York was going to produce. And then. . . and then. . . just before rehearsals were to begin, the whole project, including Circle Rep, fell apart. We were all devastated, but life moved on. Now, almost 30 years later, Mary Sue (with a couple of Emmys as a soap opera writer under her belt) and we (with 13 more CDs under ours) have reconnected and are picking up where we left off. So, we're taking some time off at the end of this month to revise and update "Streets of Gold" with Mary Sue. This will be fun.

Bumper Sticker of the Month:My clock must be hungry. It just went back four seconds. Two years ago, we "bartered" a deal with the good folks at Deep Structure Productions in Staunton, VA whereby we wrote and recorded a song for their PBS series, "Life in the Heart Land" (https://www.pbs.org/show/life-heart-land/), and they developed and produced a video of our song, "Old Lovers Waltz" (https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=8GQUs7UTcPc). They approached us recently about doing a video of the song we wrote, "In the Heart Land" and, of course, we jumped on board that idea. So, now we're practicing the song in order to appear to know what weÕre doing when we lip sync it next week. Hopefully we'll soon have another video and the song will be in our setlists.

We'll close by saying we're grateful for family, friends, and the support we receive from so many of you. Thank you, and we hope we see you at one of the stops along the way. Remember, live music makes you smarter. Your pals,
Robin and Linda
